Alvargalan is a celebration of companies, individuals, and ideas within Skellefteå’s business community. During the day the program, invited speakers share insights and inspiring future predictions. The evening program offers festivities, entertainment, mingling and an exclusive three-course dinner creating a fantastic atmosphere for celebration. Highlighting the evening is the awards ceremony with prizes in twelve different categories. Companies and people in Skellefteå who achieved success in doing something extra during the year will be recognized.

Skellefteå’s Business Day is named after Mr. Alvar Lindmark. He personifies and symbolizes the strong entrepreneurial spirit that has been associated with the Skellefteå area for decades. Mr. Alvar Lindmark was the entrepreneur and inventor who in 1948 founded the company that would later be named Alimak who manufacture elevators and construction hoists. For over 70 years they have played a crucial roll on construction and industrial projects around the world
